  • As Girl Effect increases the scale of its reach and impact, we also aim to leverage the funding of our original founders and grow our investment and funding further. The Fund Mobilisation team is responsible for Girl Effect's fundraising and investor relations, working closely with Girl Effect's CEO and COO to manage our income strategy and fundraising campaigns. Girl Effect is unique in the sector and has a blended funding model that goes beyond charitable revenue. We seek philanthropic gifts and institutional grants to maintain the operations of Girl Effect and undertake new opportunities.


    Girl Effect is in an exciting period of growth with a number of new investor relationships as well as opportunities in the pipeline. We are looking for an experienced account manager to oversee the day to day running of a significant new global account with a corporate foundation focused on digital innovation in multiple geographies. The successful candidate will lead on this priority account whilst  whilst continuing to develop a longer term pipeline of relationships and opportunities.


    We are looking for someone with a strong track record of managing complex relationships and projects as well as cross functional teams.  Whilst the priority focus of this role will initially be to oversee the day to day management of the account, over time the post holder will also support the wider Institutional and Corporate Philanthropy team to capitalise on exciting new opportunities as well as take on other account relationships


    Key Responsibilities

    Investor Management

    Deliver a client-style approach to managing funder relationships – including day to day relationship management, ongoing engagement on project delivery and building opportunities for organic growth.


    Cross organisational working

    Working with a range of teams across the organisation to develop effective engagement plans, update investors on project progress, establish opportunities and develop proposals.



    Oversee regular quarterly and annual reporting for accounts delivering a robust case for our progress against milestons, strong financial accounting and compelling narrative for future activities and opportunities


    Research and intelligence

    Deliver ongoing research and intelligence gathering to understand the needs, interests and objectives of proposed partners, identify shared market opportunities and develop a hypothesis for areas of collaboration.


    Business development and income generation

    Establish new business opportunities within existing accounts as well as support the broader team in cultivating new relationships and developing business cases to secure investment.
    Work with the Fund Mobilisation department to help deliver the income generation targets of Girl Effect, and support a number of key relationships in the Institutional and Corp[orate Philanthropy team


    Enagagement plans

    Design new investor plans which build on identifited Girl Effect priorities and match partner interests to ensure the right objectives, outputs and growth potential 


    Skills and Experience

    -         Project Management: able to work with and influence a range of colleagues and stakeholders in a complex environment, successfully delivering integrated outputs against a defined strategy;

    -         Client management: proven experience of managing relationships with external organisations and overseeing delivery and reporting against investments

    -         Business development: proven experience of winning bids and pitches;

    -         Strategic thinking and design: able to work to organizational strategic priorities and design approaches for complex issues and audiences as part of partnership programmes;

    -         Demonstrated understanding of development and ideally the role that media and technology can play to improve their lives of girls

    -         Research and insight: able to employ sound research and analytical thinking to establish partnership opportunities;

    -         Excellent written communication skills who can succinctly capture, communicate, and rally internal support for strategy and objectives;

    -         Self-starter - confident and proactive in generating and leading new initiatives;

    -         Adaptable - able to work in complex, unfamiliar and changing environments;

    -         A collaborative team player;

    -         Culturally aware and respectful - curious and sensitive about the cultures in which we operate;

    -         Ability to work effectively in multicultural teams with varying expertise, skills and backgrounds;
