The hue on everyone’s lips this fashion season: Vibrant pink. In terms of symbolism, pink stands for playfulness, youth and femininity, which explains the continuous use of this colour throughout fashion history.
In a bid to maximise and push the limits of how far one colour could be used for various cuts, shapes and fabrics, Valentino’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli worked with the Pantone Color Institution to mix a new shade of pink – Pink PP – for Valentino’s fall/winter 2022 collection.
The entire show — and the shades of pink — became an overnight sensation overnight with the genius of Piccioli’s bold choice. Although the gowns, pantsuits and accessories were magnificent, it will be a while before we can get our hands on anything Pink PP.
In the meantime, here are some wildly different but wearable style ideas you can try.
