Severn Sisters – A True Community! — Anna Fine Jewellery

I have written a few of weblogs above the last several weeks that I didn’t really publish. I’m not absolutely sure why, but I’m likely to just go with the notion that if I considered they were any great, I’d have concluded creating and posted them!

Nowadays however, I do truly have a little something really worth writing about. It’s a tale of serious local community and collaboration, of nuts concepts, really hard work and loads of love…

About this time las 12 months (wow! It was that extensive back, I just looked it up!!) I was asked to be component of a team exhibition of artists that were possibly impressed by or labored along with the river Severn. I virtually said no, as I normally observed to be wholly snowed less than with commissions and never ever get any time to make everything other than that.

I did not say no though…I made the decision to commit to undertaking anything, that had grow to be just a tiny outdoors my ease and comfort zone. I joined the Severn Sisters and we put on our 1st exhibition at 7Q Gallery in Chepstow.

The exhibition seemed superb and really very good sales ended up designed, but I want to notify you about our “second” event….Open up House……

It was all the courageous strategy of Annie Brennan, who we’ve now all named our “mother superior”. An idea based all-around related exhibitions that she’d frequented/listened to of in town centres – all of the “sisters” putting on an exhibition around a weekend, in her dwelling. So, just after some meetings, some snacks and a handful of beverages, with no advertising and marketing price range and no strategy if anybody would arrive, we resolved to go for it!

Well… I consider the only phrases to explain this previous weekend are resounding achievement!! There ended up 13 of us included all with each other, and simply by some social media sharing and a bit of leaflet printing on our home printers, people did obtain out at about it – hundreds of people today in fact! It just goes to clearly show that if you set your thoughts to it, and give your very very best hard work, nearly anything is attainable!

For me nevertheless, the true achievement has been finding this wonderful group of women (and one particular token guy of training course) that have just been so supportive to every single other during the organisation and the true event. In excess of the previous handful of weeks, but particularly in the course of the Open Home itself, we chatted about so a lot of issues and shared so many laughs. Theres of course been hugs, but to be honest, it feels like the Severn Sisters are just a person massive regular hug. The way that the team just gelled was definitely seen by our site visitors as one of them believed that we all lived and worked alongside one another in Annie’s household!

We’re all different ages, from various sites and backgrounds and have unique views, likes and dislikes, and which is unquestionably okay. I experience so privileged to have been requested to be part of this awesome tiny group and I can not wait around to get started wondering about what we do upcoming!
